Albert Kish
November 15, 1938 - February 2, 2018
Albert Kish, age 79, of Pigeon, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe. Albert was born on November 15, 1938 in Caro, son of the late Steven and Rose (Petho) Kish. He married Elizabeth “Betsy” Ribbens on August 1, 1988 in Bad Axe. Al, as everyone knew him, enlisted in the United States Marine Corps after graduating high school. Upon his return, he worked at the Caro state hospital for 9 years as an attendant nurse. He joined the Michigan State Police in December of 1968. He worked as a road trooper at the East Lansing post, and served 26 years at the Bad Axe post. When he retired in 1997, he worked as a police officer for the villages of Harbor Beach, Port Austin and Sebewaing. He also worked as a deputy at the County Sheriff’s office on the road. Al was a devoted father and husband. He loved going to the airport, watching ships and listening to the scanner with his boys. He loved to take his kids hunting and fishing and loved family vacations to Mackinaw City. Al is survived by his wife, Betsy Kish of Pigeon. 4 Sons – Marvin Kish of Rhodes, MI, James Kish of Caseville, Andy (Dena) Kish of Sebewaing and Christian Kish of Pigeon. 1 Daughter – Cindy (Mike) Dubs of Owendale. 1 Sister – Mary Connell of Vassar. 6 Grandchildren and 1 Great-grandchild. Al was preceded in death by: 2 Brothers – Steve Kish and Frank Kish. 2 Sisters – Helen Rock and Julia Dillon. Services will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 11 am at the Bad Axe First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Caseville Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 from 4 – 8 pm, Wednesday from 1 – 8 pm or Thursday at the church from 10 am until the service time at 11 am.
