Lilly Richardson
February 10, 1923 - December 31, 2015
Lilly Richardson, age 92, of Bad Axe, went to be with her Lord, on Thursday, December 31, 2015, at Courtney Manor of Bad Axe, where she had been a resident the past year. Lilly was born February 10, 1923 on a farm in Lincoln Township, daughter of the late Joshua and Lucile (Gravelle DesJarden) Tetreau. She was the youngest of 12 children. She attended church school in Kinde and later graduated from Kinde High School. Following graduation, she worked in Detroit making shells for the war effort, later moving back to the farm. She married Stephen Richardson November 24, 1945 in Bad Axe. He preceded her in death in January of 1990. Lilly enjoyed reading, especially her Bible, crocheting, gardening and sewing. She and Steve enjoyed camping, fishing, being in the woods, and feeding the birds. Lilly is survived by: 3 Daughters-Nancy (Ken) Acker of East Jordan. Susan (Joe) Wallace of Tavares, FL. Stephanie (Ed) McCrea of Bad Axe. 6 Grandchildren-Stephanie, David, Lindsay, Heather, Michael, and Valerie. 16 Great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews and her extended family at Courtney Manor. Lilly was predeceased in death by: 7 Brothers-Placid, Theodore, Robley, Clydus, Charles, Ephraim and Alger Tetreau. 4 Sisters-Lillian Tetreau, Alice Green, Elsie Sherwood and Lucile Sherwood-Shively. Services will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 11 am at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe. Burial will be in Colfax Cemetery. Friends may call at the Kaufman Funeral Home on Monday from 5-8 pm or Tuesday from 10 am until the service time at 11 am. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to those at Courtney Manor for the love and care that goes far beyond expectations. We love and thank you.
